Business & Community Excellence Awards (BCEA's). It's as easy as 1, 2, 3! Click the link, nominate any business or community organization for any of the 13 awards and press submit. The process is anonymous and multiple nominations don't affect the ultimate result.
Once the nominations are closed, October 19th, any business that is nominated for any of the 10 judged awards will receive a nomination package to fill out. Those will be sent out to our 5 judges that live and work outside of the Golden and Area A community. Finalists will be announced in November.
There are 2 public vote awards. Stay tuned to our social media and website for more details of how to vote and how to buy tickets to the Gala on November 24th.

Business of the Year
Nominees should be in business for at least 5 years and show an increase in gross profit value. Has shown excellence in innovation, sustainable development, customer or client relations, risk-taking and community support. Has shown leadership in their field and the Golden business community.

This business has filled a niche in the market that benefits the community. Show how they have been innovative in surviving their first year and have a solid social media and website presence.
Nominee must have started operations after September 2021 to be considered.

Tourism Award
Nominee operates in the tourism industry (restaurants, hotels, tour operators etc) and has demonstrated excellence in their professional service, ability to give back to the community and continues to innovate in their business practices. Extra points to those who have shown best environmental practices in their industry.

Community Organization Award
Nominee is a registered nonprofit or charity organization that has demonstrated outstanding community contributions, has a reputation for excellence and integrity and has demonstrated exceptional leadership. This nominee has made a significant positive impact on the community by delivering exceptional programs and services.

Employer of the Year
This business or community organization should show exceptional managerial skills, have high retention numbers and have a reputation within the community as the "place to work". As a public vote award, nominated businesses will be encouraged to engage their employees to vote.

Nominee is in either Trade or Industry. Demonstrates excellence in the last calendar year, have a perceived community impact, show an innovative project (or process) and professionalism of the services provided.
Young Entrepreneur
They should show incredible entrepreneurial spirit, community impact of the business, how innovative the project has been and the professionalism of the service.
Nominee is an individual who is under the age of 30.

Food & Beverage
Nominated businesses must be in the Food & Beverage industry but do not require to have a brick and mortar. Has demonstrated consistent quality, customer service and an innovated style and creativity.
Franchise of the Year
Nominated businesses must be part of a franchise chain. Demonstrate quality customer service, staff retention and community involvement.
Agriculture Excellence
Nominee shows excellence in the field of growing, cultivating and supplying their crop or yield. Demonstrating best environmental practices and professional services in the Golden and Area A region.
Innovation Excellence
Nominee is a business or organization that has demonstrated a forward-thinking approach by adopting or delivering innovation into their business practices and/or the community at large. Shown the ability to adapt and change with the times and displayed their resiliency.
Customer Service Excellence
Nominee is a business or community organization that has shown consistent exceptional customer service. As a public vote award, nominated businesses will be encouraged to engage with the public to get as many votes as possible.
