International Timberframes designs, manufactures, engineers and builds timberframe and 100% wood DLT mass timber. The company was founded in 2003 (20 years ago!) by Swiss Master Timberframer Sigi Liebmann. Since his early days in Grade 1, Sigi has been drawn to the art of timberframing.
At the age of 12, he eagerly took on summer jobs at a local timber frame company, instantly falling in love with the craft. By 14, he signed an apprenticeship contract and commenced his journey at 15 in 1986. Fueling his aspirations, he attended the technical school in Biel, Switzerland.
Eventually, his dream of owning his own company took shape. After his travels brought him to Canada, Sigi found Golden to be the perfect place to establish his business.

With the future in mind, and as the interest in building with 100% mass timber grows, International Timberframes is looking forward to the building of a new timberframing workshop and production facility of 100% wood dowel laminated timber (DLT) in Golden this year.
With support from the federal government’s Green Construction through Wood Program, the new facility will be the culmination of several years of planning, collaborating with wonderful architectural and engineering partners and absolute determination to continually be as sustainable as possible.
